4 weeks to go

Not long now until we break up for Christmas. It is going to be a very busy but fun time ahead. There was a letter in the reading bag about buying tickets for the Nativity. It does get very busy so the quicker letters come back to school the better. Please take letters out of reading bags and put them into the tray by the door. If your child goes to Rascals it might be a good idea to hand anything straight to Rascal members.

Thank you to everyone who reads with their child at least 4 times a week. You can really see the progress your children are making not only in reading but in writing as well. Children who are confident with tricky words are starting to use some of these without support.

In maths this we we have been making repeating patterns using 2 or 3 variables. We used paints, blocks, beads, coloured cotton reels and lots of other small classroom objects.

In RE we have been thinking about giving presents and saying thank you for them. We opened presents and decided whether they would make good presents for a baby. Silly Mrs Bq forgot about the tin of soup and packets of chalk that she had wrapped up. After unwrapping the presents, children worked collaboratively wrapping them back up, cutting up paper and tape and holding it in place. We then thought about a special present for someone in our family and drew a picture as well as verbally sharing why they wanted to give this gift. There were lots of gorgeous answers.

I am out of class on Friday all day so I will be talking to the children about these changes. The children know Mrs Oakman who will be covering for me. Please can home learning folders be returned on Thursday and I will add new home learning for Friday.

We now offer a Christmas present wrapping service.....
